What changed

Senior execution behind agency delivery.

More than ten years working independently with agencies shaped Starter.pt around the work that usually becomes expensive when ignored: inherited code, unclear deployments, weak hosting, missing backups, security gaps and technical decisions made too late.

The role is practical execution, not slideware. We plug into agency workflows, help define the technical path, ship the work, and stay available when the client needs support after launch.

Backed by Zend PHP certification, Cisco cybersecurity training, current CET Level 5 Cybersecurity Specialist training and recent Anthropic MCP credentials for modern AI-aware integrations.

Who you work with

Led by a technical owner, not a sales layer.

Starter.pt is intentionally small. Bruno Mesquita leads the technical decisions and delivery direction, with Mónica and Hugo supporting client operations, QA and active delivery when extra capacity is needed.

Starter.pt rebuild

This website is also a delivery example.

The same discipline used on client work was applied here: clarify the business case, remove weak assumptions, build fast static output, protect the form, prepare bilingual SEO and make the site easier to maintain after launch.

Compare with anonymised project notes
01

Old site constraints

The previous website was static, thin on proof, dependent on a basic form and not strong enough for SEO, legal clarity or current service positioning.

02

Content and trust rebuilt

The new structure was shaped around services, agency support, anonymised project notes, approved public references, legal pages and clearer contact flows.

03

Production details handled

The build added bilingual URLs, hreflang, sitemap, robots, LLM files, cookie consent, Turnstile, SMTP form delivery, performance work and Search Console cleanup.

Focused help for the work that usually slows teams down.

Discovery, estimates, sprint planning and support retainers are structured so budget decisions stay visible.

Engagement models

Ways to engage senior execution.

Process

How the first engagement usually works.

01

Audit the situation

We review the product, codebase, hosting, risks and priorities before suggesting a plan.

02

Define the first sprint

The initial scope focuses on the fastest path to visible progress and lower technical risk.

03

Deliver with visibility

Work is tracked through short updates, demos, code reviews and clear deployment checkpoints.

04

Support after launch

We stay available for monitoring, fixes, improvements and technical advice through a monthly retainer.

FAQ

Common questions before starting.

Ask something specific
Can Starter.pt work with an existing website?

Yes. Existing websites are often the best fit. Work starts with a technical audit, risk review and agreed priorities before any controlled production changes are made.

What stack do you work with?

The core stack is PHP, WordPress, WooCommerce, MySQL, JavaScript and Linux, with supporting work around APIs, Anthropic/OpenAI integrations, HTML/CSS, hosting, performance and security.

Is this only for agencies?

No. Agencies are a strong fit because they often need senior delivery behind client projects, but startups and established businesses also use Starter.pt for build, AI integration, security and infrastructure work.

Can you help with urgent or inherited projects?

Yes. Starter.pt can help with urgent production issues, inherited codebases, technical rescue, takeover work and stabilisation before a safer delivery path is agreed.

How does monthly support work?

Support is handled as a recurring engineering retainer, usually with a three-month minimum. Capacity, channels, priorities and response expectations are agreed before the support rhythm starts.

Can you manage the server too?

Yes. Managed VPS and dedicated server work includes practical Linux hosting support, SSL, DNS, backups, cron jobs, monitoring and troubleshooting for environments prepared and controlled by Starter.pt.

What kind of enquiries are not a good fit?

Small low-budget B2C websites, vague quote requests, isolated maintenance without context and cheap one-off fixes are usually not a good fit. Useful enquiries include context, constraints, deadline and the technical risk that needs attention.
