Founder background

Why Starter.pt works this way.

Starter.pt is led by Bruno Mesquita, a technical consultant with 16+ years of professional experience, web work going back more than two decades and independent delivery through Starter.pt since 2015. The model is intentionally small: senior technical ownership, direct communication and less distance between the decision and the code.

The work started in application development, with PHP as the core area of expertise. Over time that widened into WordPress, WooCommerce, MySQL, JavaScript, infrastructure, security review and production support for agencies, startups and digital teams.

As a Zend Certified PHP Engineer, that background carries through to a consistent focus on best practices, code quality and long-term maintainability. Current CET Level 5 specialist training in Cybersecurity strengthens the security side of the work across systems, data and infrastructure.

The independent model exists because many projects do not need a large delivery structure. They need someone senior enough to understand the technical risk, stabilise the path forward and stay accountable after production changes. Experience includes internal projects within groups such as Media Capital and long-term freelance collaborations.
